Yesterday once the rain stopped Deacon was determined to go outside and go for a wagon ride. Scott asked if I wanted them to take a dog with, so I said, "Sure, take Bonsai on his first walk!" So I put his cute little harness on and sent him out with the boys for an adventure. About 10 minutes later I get a phone call from Scott asking me to come outside and look at the wagon. Apparently Bonsai refused to budge on the leash so Scott just put him in the wagon with Deacon! He loved the ride and Deacon got to have a buddy to walk around the neighborhood with. :)

PHEW! Long weekend!
Sorry I haven't updated in a few days, we had a long weekend! On top of our previously planned activities, we are still house hunting so that has been keeping us plenty busy. Here are some pictures from our weekend and an update on Baby Bennett!
Saturday: Deacon and I participated in the Dallas Arthritis Walk to support one of the fosters with our Boxer rescue group. Apache was the dog hero of the walk and it was really fun to go out and be a part of his team!
Sunday: Scott's new boss reserved a suite at the Rangers game and invited us to join him. We had lots of fun at the game and it was nice to be able to bring Deacon since normally we couldn't do that. It's not a great picture of us, but it will work since Deacon was not in the mood for a photo shoot!
I have to share this one with you guys... Cutest picture EVER! I call it "Big paws, little paws" :)
Baby Bennett Update! 22 weeks and counting!
Your Mini's hands have grown bigger and stronger and the nerve endings in her fingers have developed her sense of touch. She's in there testing out her newfound abilities by touching her face and grabbing the umbilical cord. Other cool developments:
You're already raising a little Einstein. Your baby's brain is developing at a clip this week and will continue to do so until she's five years old (so load up on the Omega 3)!
Baby's hair is now a short, bright white crop (Billy Idol, eat your heart out!). No matter what color it will end up—red, blonde, black—all babies' hair lacks pigment at this point.
Your baby has started growing taste buds and may be able to detect strong flavors in the amniotic fluid. If you could see inside, you might catch her sticking out her tongue for a taste and then grimacing, a sign that perhaps you should chill on the chili powder.
Your baby now weighs almost a pound and measures almost 11 inches from her head to her heel, which is how the Stretch Armstrong in your uterus will be measured from here on out. Up 'til now your baby's legs were curled tight up against her torso, so she was measured from her head to her bottom (or crown to rump) and not head to toe. This week your mini is about as long as a package of Oreos and as heavy as a large bag of tortilla chips. Who's hungry?

Knight is officially ready for adoption... YAY!
Hey there, my name is Knight! My Mama calls me Knightacus most of the time, because she says it makes me sound like a warrior. You see, until now my short life has been nothing but an uphill battle. I'm about 14 months old, but the first 10 months of my life were nothing but miserable. When I first came to my foster home I had no hair, was pretty stinky, and had never been to a vet before. I had what is called demodectic mange, but thanks to some wonderful vet care, strong medicines, and lots of love I'm a healthy boy who is ready to start a new chapter in life! I've been given a clean bill of health from the vets and am so excited to find a family of my very own.
I've been told that I'm a mix between Boston Terrier and Jack Russell Terrier, whatever that means. I just think I'm cute because that's what everyone tells me. I live with two Boxer boys and a Boston Terrier girl, they taught me how to play like a real dog and what it's like to be loved and cherished just like I deserve. I really enjoy playing with other dogs as long as they're nice to me, have plenty of energy, and will let me be the boss. I love playing with my foster brothers and sister, I wear them all out and still have energy left over! I like ropes, balls, stuffies, and anything that squeaks, but I don't need to have another dog in my home as long as you promise to make me the center of your world. I'm house trained, crate trained, know to sit before I eat and get treats, but could use some formal training if that's something you'd like to do together. Snuggling is what I do best and I love to curl up on the couch and take a good nap with my people. When I first came to my foster home I didn't want anyone to touch me at all, but now I love a good scratch and belly rub. There is a little boy who lives here too, he's only a year old and I'm very sweet to him. My Mama thinks I would do best with kids that are 5 or older because they will be better about respecting my space and can play fetch with me in the backyard!
I'm a pretty tenacious little dude who doesn't lack attitude or spunk, so Mama says I'll need a new home that has experience with terriers. I would do best as a house dog, I need a backyard and neighbors that aren't just a wall away because I really like to talk! I'm very protective and meet all visitors at the door, but once I let them know I'm here it's all kisses and wiggles from me. I don't have very good leash manners and don't like meeting new dogs on a walk, but that's nothing that a little training couldn't fix. Mama says I would do best in a home where I won't be taken a lot of new places because I can get anxious and scared in new situations. I love a good car ride though and have figured out that this place called Starbucks has puppy whip that is just for me! Yumm-o!
Do you think you might want to meet a cute boy like me? Just let the nice people at Boston Terrier Rescue of North Texas know and they'll arrange a time for us to play! Mama says she's going to miss her Knightacus bunches, but knows that there is a perfect family out there waiting just for me. How exciting is that?! Later gator, I've gotta get back to playing, there's lots to do today!

The best Mother's Day present EVER!
Yesterday was such a great day, it was so nice to spend it with my family and enjoy everything there is about being a Mom. First thing in the morning we woke up and I made my coffee, and while I was drinking it Deacon brought me a card. It was precious, Scott had helped him write Love You Mom on the inside, and there was also a check made out to Legacy Boxer Rescue! Scott and I have been fostering a sweet puppy named Sake, you may remember him from previous posts, he's the little white boy with a brown spot on his head. I have wanted to keep him since the day he was born and I was lucky enough to help deliver him, but it wasn't until yesterday that Scott agreed to make him a part of our family. I cannot even describe how exciting it has been to welcome him to the Hensley clan! His litter was called the Wasabi's, but since we have a tree theme I decided to change his name to Bonsai. Love him! :)
We went to brunch yesterday with Scott's family and then looked at a few houses with our realtor in the afternoon. Scott was offered a new job last week which has been SO exciting, I am so happy for him and couldn't be more proud. Now that we know where we are going to be long term, we decided it was time to settle down and get a place to call our own where we can raise our boys so we've started the house hunting process. With Scott being a more passive yet analytical player in the process and me being more picky and emotional, it's been interesting to say the least. Every house he walks into he says, "Ok this is pretty nice, it would work." Of course then he gets the stink eye from me and I right off the bat list 10 things that I don't like about it, haha! I know this is our first home and it's not going to be enormous or top of the line, but there are certain things I need for it to have! I'm home all day, I want to at least be able to enjoy the house and it needs to be functional for our family or it's just not going to work. We are going this afternoon to look at another home that I have been really looking forward to seeing, I hope it lives up to everything that I want it to! I'll keep y'all posted on how things are coming along with the search, no worries.
Yesterday marked the 21 week point in my pregnancy, here is what is going on this week with Baby Bennett!
"Chances are good you're feeling someone performing a round-off back handspring in your uterus by now. Is there any other feeling this cool? Other highlights this week:
By now your baby looks like a mini-version of what she'll look like when she's born. All her facial features are formed and hair is growing on her head. She's even acting like a baby and will occasionally suck her thumb or yawn. Aww ...
Baby's heartbeat is getting stronger and can be heard using a good old-fashioned stethoscope. Ask for a listen at your next prenatal visit! By 21 weeks, fetal bone marrow starts making blood cells—previously done by the liver and spleen. This may not sound that exciting, but it's good news.
The amniotic fluid that has been cushioning your little bean now serves another purpose: Your baby uses it to "practice" chowing down. Yes, it sounds gross (as many aspects of pregnancy do), but it's an important step for your baby toward being able to chow down in the real world. Your baby has been swallowing amniotic fluid for a while now, but now the intestines are finally developed enough that she's absorbing small amounts of sugars from it. And let's face it, being able to effectively digest sugar is important at every stage of life.
Your baby now weighs between 10 and 11 ounces and is approximately 7 inches long—the size of a delicious, cold, frothy bottle of root beer. Float anyone?"

20 Weeks Pregnant!
Woo-hoo-hooo! Half way there. :) Here is my 20 week belly picture and an update on what is going on with Baby Bennett this week.
This is the week most women get that ever-important gender-revealing ultrasound. If your baby isn't shy, the genitals can be clearly seen at this point. Will the baby pee standing up or sitting down? Well, that depends on how you potty train—but if you're interested, you could leave the appointment knowing if you're carrying a boy or a girl. Other highlights this week:
Your baby has established sleep patterns akin to a newborn now. Many babies even have a favorite sleep position already. Some snooze with their chins resting on their chests, while others nap with their head flung back. Many babies at this age fall into noticeable cycles of sleep and activity, so you may know before she arrives whether you have a night owl or an early bird.
If your baby is a boy, the testes have begun descending from the pelvis into the scrotum. If it's a girl, her uterus is completely formed and the rest of her "parts" are in development. (Is that TMI?)
From this point forward, your baby will put most of her energy into gaining weight and, not coincidentally, so will you! Right now your baby weighs approximately 10½ ounces and is about 6½ inches long, about the size of a can of Red Bull (which has way too much caffeine for a pregnant woman to be drinking).
